“In over four years of steadfast dancefloor activism, Glasgow’s Invisible Inc. has built a solid reputation amongst DJs, providing top-shelf selectors like Andrew Weatherall, Ivan Smagghe, Cosmo Vitelli, Bufi, Identified Patient and more with bespoke secret weaponry, tailored to 404 the hell out of song finding apps and keep the dancers on the hunt for the track that blasted their pants off the night before. A MI9-worthy hub for world-infused club melters and trippy grooves…..”

Latest mix, this time for Pingipung in Germany.

Pingipung Podcast 107: GK Machine – The Stepper’s Guide To Contra-Pop Jammers

August 2, 2019

Asked by Lucid Dream Tapes in London for a mix along the lines of what inspires the unique sound of the Komodo Kolektif (a heady, mystic brew of dub, gamelan, rhythms and experimental synths) GK Machine put together this epic 2hr 45min trip around the world. There’s nothing quite like Komodo Kolektif  in the mix but some of the source material used and fused in an attempt to recreate their vibe includes Japanese ainu, Indian sitar and tabla, contemporary Thai electro, mystic chants, avantgarde, ritual music, hints of dervish trance and of course plenty contemporary electronic music. Part ambient, part beat-driven and part experimental, the mix is a journey through various atmospheres and feelings and includes the music of Atom Heart, Josiah Steinbrick, Umeko Ando, Jon Keliehor, Sound Voyage, Thomash, Universal Being, Khidja Si Balabas, The Chi Factory, Denis Morin, Nuel, M. Rux, Peter Power, Jimi Bazzouka (Joakim), Jean-Luc, La Bottine Souriante, Legion of Green Men, Von Party, Naduve, General P.D.C., Beesmunt Soundsystem, Harmonious Thelonious, Suns Of Arqa, Suba, Sordid Sound System, Tolouse Lowtrax, Golden Bug, Fantastic Twins, Secret Circuit, Wanderwelle and The Residents. So step this way and drench your mind and body in the tropical sounds of these wonderful and strange worlds

Really enjoyed making this mix for 44,100Hz Social Club who’ve supported the label right from the beginning……has new wave, tech, Japanese avant garde, pounding dub poetry, new disco and even ends with some classic goth electro in the form of Alien Sex Fiend. Enjoy!

For our first release of 2017 we’re going full steam ahead with this new EP from Strange Culture aka Invisible Inc head honcho GK Machine.

Featuring 4 juicy analogue cuts using Simple Minds’ old Jupiter-4 and Hawkwind’s old Jupiter-8 the EP, as you might imagine, is a spacey mix of retro electronica that fits nicely into the DJ sets and dancefloors of today.

More info and clips can be found right here

Limited to 300 copies only, the record is available from the Invisible Inc bandcamp from 28 January 2017 and from stores worldwide from 6 February 2017 courtesy of RubADub Distribution.

So, at very long last , after pressing issues and what-not, Jon Keliehor’s “The Beginning Of Time” has finally arrived. The record has been out in shops since early October and has been making waves around the world in the month since release, gaining praise and accolades from all over…..and rightly so – it’s an incredibly impressive piece of work. It was Optimo’s ‘Album Of The Month’ at monorail records in Glasgow for October. Boomkat in Manchester felt similarly positive about the release and gave it this rather lovely and eloquently written review

Other esteemed connoisseurs have had this to say:

“A truly timeless and vast 4th World musical vision for an off-world generation. Masterpiece” (House of Traps / Firecracker Recordings / Unthank / Sacred Summits)”

“An epically great album and my most listened to record over summer 2016” (JD Twitch / Optimo)

“Fantastic modern day fourth world LP bringing to mind elements of Tor Lundvall, Jon Hassell and Paulo Modugno (12th Isle)

The record is limited to 500 copies with download and is available from shops worldwide. Vinyl and digital can also be bought from our bandcamp where you can listen to the entire album beforehand.
